What is Lauric Acid?
Lauric acid is a medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA) that is abundant in coconut oil, making up about 50% of its fatty acids. It's also notably present in human breast milk. Lauric acid is known for its health benefits, including:
Antimicrobial Properties: It can kill harmful pathogens like bacteria, viruses, and fungi, helping to prevent infections.
Immune Support: In the body, lauric acid is converted into monolaurin, a compound that supports the immune system.
Energy Source: MCFAs like lauric acid are quickly metabolized by the liver, providing a rapid source of energy.
These properties make lauric acid, naturally present in our formulas, an ingredient aiming to mimic some of the protective and nutritional benefits of breast milk.

How to Transition from Stage 1 to Stage 2 Formula
Transitioning your baby from Stage 1 (infant formula) to Stage 2 (follow-on formula) is an important milestone that typically occurs around 6 months of age, aligning with the introduction of solid foods. Here's a guide to make the transition smooth:
- Timing: Start the transition around the 6-month mark, but consider your baby's readiness and nutritional needs, especially if starting solids.
- Gradual Introduction: Begin by replacing one feeding of Stage 1 formula with Stage 2 formula daily, gradually increasing over the course of a week. This allows your baby to adjust to the new taste and composition.
- Monitor Response: Observe your baby for any signs of discomfort, allergies, or digestive issues during the transition. Minor adjustments are normal, but consult a healthcare provider if you have concerns.
- Maintain Routine: Try to keep feeding times consistent to provide a sense of security and routine for your baby.
- Encourage Solid Foods: As Stage 2 formula is designed to complement the introduction of solids, gradually start offering purees, mashed foods, and soft solids as part of your baby’s diet.
Remember, every baby is unique, so the transition might vary. Always consult with a healthcare professional if unsure about your baby's dietary needs.
Is your formula lactose-free?
Yes, our coconut-based formula is lactose-free, making it suitable for babies with lactose intolerance.
